There is a choice of two distances. There is also a 10 kilometre fun ride that is safe and child-friendly with long stretches of single-track riding.
PRIZES AND GIVE-AWAYS
Medals go to all finishers in all three events.
The 70 kilometre ride presents most of the tough climbing in the first half. From around the 18-kilometre mark the route climbs 700 metres over the next 20 odd kilometres. From the start, the route meanders through the Happy Rest Nature Reserve and neighbouring farms, past Buzzard Mountain Retreat and on to the Schoemansdal Museum.
This is followed by the climb up Hangklip into the Komatiland forest and onward to the famous Bluegumsport. You then ride past the Air Force Radar towers and down the mountain, where the route finally returns to the forest reserve centre.
