The Sweat Shop established in 1976, is South Africa’s largest (by sales) specialist running shop. We have the largest range of running shoes in South Africa. This means when you visit us you have the widest choice in South Africa. Our range is not only wide (over 100 styles) in terms of range but also in terms of size (kids US10 to adults US16).  

If this is intimidating, fear not our staff have ‘walked the talk’ or more likely ‘run the run’ with well over 100 marathons and ultras between us and are on hand to provide advice and guidance. Although we cannot claim to have run in every single model in the store – there are over 100 current models- chances are one of us have run either in the current model or one of its recent predecessors. 

We liaise closely with our business partners. We are thus privy to research and development of shoes, performance clothing and accessories from around the world. By attending workshops hosted around the world we gain insights into trends in markets in Europe, Australia and the Americas. The interaction with both specialist retailers from around the world and staff of and consultants to our international partners enables us to both get ahead of the curve as well as reject the unsubstantiated (Toning shoes and Balance bracelets).  We are South Africa’s only Asics ‘Platinum Dealer.’
