The route consists of two stages, a fairly long 75 kilometre ride on day one and a moderate 40 kilometre route on day two.
Overall the first stage is a finely balanced route that embraces the highest expectations of mountain bilking. There is a good mix of single track and challenging off-road stretches. The technical aspects of the race are sound and much use has been made of tracks and trails which have previously only been used for private events. The farm venue boasts a wide variety of game which includes zebras, wildebeests and rhinos.
The second stage may well be shorter but it does embrace some early challenges. Its challenge lies in the first half of the ride, roughly between the 10- and 15-kilometre markers. To be sure there is a good mix of dirt road, jeep track and single track with some technical ascents and descents.
